What a weekend + Photo Overload

Saturday was a wedding party frenzy. I had a lingerie/luncheon in the morning, and a couples party later that evening. Since the bride and groom are having a destination wedding, they had the two parties here for everyone that couldn't make it to the wedding. Of course we all had a blast! I'm loving this whole no stressing over school, just living life, being a big girl thing.

Breaking the Ice

I saw this fun blog link up on Michabella's blog and she got it here.
Since I have been a blogger slacker, I knew this would be perfect.
Join in with us!

1) Tell one thing not many people know about you.
I blog about a lot so I can't really think of anything right now. We all know I am a new graduate, who just started working as an RN trying to save up some money and move out!

2) If you HAD to change your first name, what would you change it to?
I don't mind Lindsey. I have so many girl names that I like, but Ill keep mine. However, I will say some days I wish I didn't have a name, because it is said 30+ times at work all day long!!!!

3) What are your 3 favorite songs of the moment?
Someone Like You - Adele
Colder Weather - Zac Brown Band
an oldie by John Mayer that I have been jamming to - Comfortable

4) List 3 goals on your life's to-do list:
Be a Pediatric or NICU nurse
Have a family
Pay off student loans... ASAP

5) What is one of your favorite quotes?

6) Fill in the blank:  If I had an extra 10 dollars to spend . . I would buy __________?
um... right now it would be some gas..but that wouldn't get me very far.

7) What’s your birth date?
February 16th! Whoop Whoop.

8) Do you have a hidden talent and if so what is it?
I don't think I have a hidden talent, unless it is hidden to me as well. However, I'm pretty sure I'm becoming a pro at karaoke. What! What!

9) What do you think of when you hear the word "blue"?
work for a couple of reasons. #1 CODE BLUE. YIKES. #2 it is the color I must wear every single day.

10) Finish this thought:  I need . . .
a nap.

YOUR TURN!
Have fun.
Let me know if you did this so I can read yours too!!!!

Happy Father's Day.

I am a pretty lucky girl.
I have the best Dad ever who goes above and beyond
and loves me far more than sometimes I ever deserve.
I love him with my entire heart.

Summer Nights

If anyone is keeping track, this weekend was my very FIRST weekend to NOT have to study. I can't even believe I am still blogging about school, but I definitely have to remind myself to relax. So to continue to the celebrations of graduating, my brother and I wanted to sing a little karaoke.
We always have an absolute blast.
Our newest go to is Summer Nights, from the movie Grease.
And although I can not sing, I sure do act like it.

I even got to hang with my favorite roomies.
 And some great friends.

And of course, any karaoke night with me would be no fun without a little Reba, and a lot of Fancy.

What are your some of your karaoke songs??

Scenes on a Saturday

Today, I went to Trade Days, where whoever has a booth set up and they sell things, almost like a fancy thrift store or yard sale, with my Dad, sister, brother in law, niece, and nephew.
It was hot.
My Dad and Judson had matching hats,
and the day wouldn't have been complete without a strawberry snow cone to wash it all down.
I bought a super cute bracelet, and we all had a great time.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

Drumroll Please....

Today I had two more classes for work and orientation. However, I knew that I would be finding out about my boards (the big nursing test), so I put my sister on computer watch. You can imagine that my morning was filled with a lot of deep breathing, and trying not to check my phone every 2 minutes. When we take our boards, they tell us we have to wait at least 48 hours until we find out, but they do post whether or not our license is active the very next day (which is today), and that is also a way to see if you have passed. LONG STORY SHORT, I PASSED. I am an OFFICIAL REGISTERED NURSE. The hardest test of my life didn't quite kill me, it only made me stronger, and I am a working girl for good! See...

My temporary license is now Null and Void and my RN is active! I can't believe it either. There are actually not many words to describe the excitement. I could scream I am so happy, cry that I actually made it through alive, and sigh a huge sigh of relief that everything I have ever worked for has finally come true. I can finally start this new chapter without stressing over a test on Monday. Sure I will have other stressors, but I honestly can't tell you all how thankful I am that this journey is no more.
GOD IS SO GOOD.

Today was the day.

Today I took my nursing boards.
I had between 140-150 questions, I stopped looking after 140ish so I really couldn't tell you.
(The minimum is 75 and the maximum is 265;
the computer will cut you off when it feels it has a good portrayal of how you did).
It was by far one of the hardest tests of my life.
I am sure I blacked out during some of the questions.
I can't believe I am still sitting in front of a computer screen.
I don't think my eyes are really appreciating this right now.
I will find out tomorrow the BIG NEWS.
Until then, I will continue praying for GOOD NEWS.

Fill in the blank Friday

linking up with Lauren
1.   This weekend I'm      going to be studying.

2.  My last vacation was    to the lake for memorial weekend!!

3.  My next vacation will be   hopefully back to the lake on the 4th of July!!

4.  My favorite way to relax is  well if we are still talking about vacation, then laying out and reading a good book or hanging with friends.

5.  When vacationing one should always    leave work at home and just have fun fun fun.

6.  When vacationing one should never       have to do anything that involves school or work.

7.  The best part about a vacation is      getting away from the real world for a little while

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!! Happy Friday!

The girl in blue.

Where I work is color coordinated.
Huh?
That just means each department wears a specific color.
Nurses; navy and/or white, Nursing Assistants; grey, Respiratory Therapy; Brown, Pharmacy; Black,
Physical Therapy; Green.
See?
Actually, I don't mind it. I only have to buy a specific color so it lays off the time spents shopping for scrubs, which is a lot more time consuming than I imagined. Also, I like the color choices.

Oh, so I went from the grey scrubs to the navy and/or white scrubs OFFICIALLY on Wednesday.
I actually didn't expect to be as nervous as I was. I have been there almost 2 years so it isn't new territory. However, I did feel like it was the first day of high school all over again. Have I ever mentioned how much high school was not for me? Well if I haven't there you go. I guess I was just over thinking the first day, which is pretty typical, and it ended up being JUST FINE. We had a math test that morning, and learned all about policies throughout the day. I start working on the floor TOMORROW.

Im still studying for my nursing boards or the N-CLEX or that big test I have to pass in order to be a licensed Registered Nurse, and not just a temp.
eeeeeeeeeeekk.
Happy Thursday, soon to be Friday!
