Everybody's Doing It...

My wish for 2011.

one:: On may 10th to become a nurse, and celebrate Ryleigh's third birthday of course. I'm anxious, excited, nervous, terrified, and extremely hopeful... About the graduation. I'm excited my niece will be 3, just can't believe it. Time sure does fly.

two:: To read the entire Bible. I think I'll do the this.

three:: I want to pray every single day.

four:: find a new church. I must admit ever since my church closed in may, I haven't been very much. I just want to find a church that fits me.

five:: I wish to exercise more. Isn't that most people's wishes? Seriously, it must happen. People weren't kidding when they said you stop growing taller when you get older, you just grow wider.

six:: Maybe I'll eat less fatty foods in the process.

seven:: More time for me and my little girl, Tallulah. Because she is getting older, and one day I might not have her, and that breaks my heart.

eight:: I will spend more time with my friends, after graduation of course. I don't know how much time I won't have come January 10th, but I'll make the most of what I have. I need my friends.

nine:: I wish to do for me. So many times we give give give for others, and forget that we must be happy first. I don't know how someone can please someone else until they are happy with themselves. After all, no one will be happy in the end. So I must do a little something for myself first. Selfish? I think, IMPERATIVE!

ten:: I will choose my battles more wisely, because you can't take back words already spoken.

eleven:: I wish to be more thankful, and count my blessings more often than I do.

and one to grow on:: TO keep my car more clean. The bullet needs lovin' too.

I can't believe 2010 is one day away from being over.
Even though 2011 is an ODD number, I am SURE it will be anything but.
I CAN'T WAIT!

Daniel's Birthday Blog.

For Daniel's birthday, we went bowling. Let me start off by saying that 8 people bowled. I beat 6 of them. 1 of them being my brother.

Do you see Lindsey?? I CAME IN 2nd with a whopping 127!

a semi-long BLOG about Christmas.

Well I think I speak for most when I say I have been rather busy this past couple of weeks. I don't even know where to begin. I know that it feels lovely not toting around 25 lb books everywhere I go, and I know I still have 2 whole weeks of NO SCHOOL. I am also MORE THAN THANKFUL to be starting the 5th semester. For now though, I am okay being a bum. I'll break down my week just for you.

Thursday (Christmas Eve Eve) - I kept the niece, and that night we went to my aunt's for a little family time. Her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 nieces (1 niece in law), 2 nephews (1 nephew in law), 1 great niece, and 1 great nephew all came together. And a few other loved ones as well!!

from left to right. Baby Will, Melissa, Bill, Michele, Dad, Me, Ryleigh, Jeromy, Jessica, Daniel.
from left to right: Ashleigh Andrew (Tonya & Scott), Krista and Keith (Holly), Connor, Carly, Carter (Ben & Tammy), and the sweet little lady in blue is my Aunt Lynn (my dad's sister) These are her children and grandchildren.

Also that night, we gave everyone prayer bracelets. Remember the blog, This too Shall Pass? Well, my sister had a wonderful idea to make bracelets to give to the family, and that is exactly what we did. I wrote a little poem to attatch, put them in some snazzy little bags, and everyone got a special little surprise.Tears included.
it reads: This too shall pass. and on the other side: Team Mimi
We will climb this mountain
And hold our heads high
We will push through this together
Together we will fight
The battle may be tough
And the outcome unknown
But we will make this journey
And you wont do it alone
We will laugh until we cry
And make every moment last
We will never give up
Because This too shall pass...

Friday(Christmas Eve) - I went to Kyle's parents for his Mom's side Christmas festivities. We a had a great dinner, and then got to open lots of presents. They open presents one at a time (from youngest to oldest this year), it is a lot of fun! I am very thankful to be a part of it all. Here is quite a few snapshots from the night!!
His meemaw has the coolest ornaments! These are caurosel ornaments. They play music, and go up and down, just like the real thing!
Kyle, me, Stella, and Tallulah. sorry. we had to have a picture by everything. my idea, of course.

 this is wilbur, the snowman.
 Lori (cousin), Mrs.Sheila(his mom), Meemaw (mom's mom), Mike(uncle), Mr.Billy (his dad),Teresa (mom's sister/aunt), Kyle, Luke (cousin),Scott (brother), and Landon (lori's husband).

my Tallulah, and his mom's little Berkley.

Saturday (Christmas Day) - I started the day out at my Mom's. We had a very yummy breakfast, then opened our presents from Santa. Jessica, Jeromy, and Ryleigh came over. It is always so much fun to see little ones open gifts. She wanted scissors from Santa. Santa must have forgotten, but her Honey (that is what she calls my mom sure didn't), so of course she was fine from then on. However, she did manage to open her presents, as long as she could cut the paper off with her scissors! Too funny. It is the little things. Also, my mom should probably go into the stocking making business. Mine, my sister and brother's were all made by a cousin when we were babies. My mom made the others!!

 check out that cutting action.

 us with our mama.
the pop up tent popped me in the face. seriously. pretty funny.

for lunch we go see our daddy. we are all STUFFED.
I don't have pictures from then, but here is a sweet little picture of my dad and me.
I hope everyone had a very very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Better Late than Never, Right?

I sure hope so.
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY (yesterday), DANIEL!
That is my brother.
We have gotten very close over the past few years,
and we are pretty much best friends.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love him dearly,
laugh with him daily,
and couldn't ask for a better friend.
He is a rock,
a guide,
a teacher,
a listener,
and a karaoke partner.
I love you Dan.
And I am sorry I didn't post this yesterday.
I was out getting your sweet new present.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I LOVE YOU

Fill in the blank Friday

                                                                   courtesy of thelittlethingswedo.blogspot.com

1.   Giving is     so much fun...especially when there are babies in the family...the smallest things mean the most.

2.  Receiving is   very fun as well, and although I am not one for surprises, I don't mind not knowing on Christmas

3.  The best gift I ever received was   So very many... but one I loved very dearly was a plate my mom had given me the day I moved into my first apartment at college.

4.  The best gift I ever gave was  all of the above...haha. no, I don't think just one stands out in my mind.

5.  Something intangible that I wish I could receive is      singing skills.

6.  Something intangible that I wish I could give is    driving skills..like that one Dad??

7.  The one gift I always wanted as a child, but never got was      A CASH REGISTER! I asked every year, and Santa obviously forgot. :) I forgive him.

Confessions of a teen-aged college-aged girl...

okay so I have a confession. I have many guilty pleasures, and 90% fall under one category. reality tv/celebs. That is not the confession, just a fact. I check people.com everyday. I check perezhilton.com everyday too. Probably more than once or twice. It is bad, to say the least. I try to tell myself I won't do it for a week or so, but it is one of the first things I check in the morning. I get upset when celebrities break up, and I might even shed a tear when they get married or have babies. I know I said it was bad. However, my love for reality tv is just as bad. Such shows as Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, The Hills, The City, and so on and so forth. So when my season finale airs, a part of my little heart sinks into solitaire and mourns another season gone. But guess what folks?? TEEN MOM IS COMING BACK, and IT IS NOT about maci and that gang... It is a WHOLE NEW SET OF GIRLS! Thanks to people.com, I have found the trailor. You can check it out for yourself right here... SO CHECK IT OUT!!! January 11th. Check. Already making a mental calendar note.

coming TOGETHER.

Have I mentioned how much I love christmas time. And although I do not, will not jinx myself about school, this might just be my very last christmas break. Because as a working girl, it just doesn't happen, unless you ARE NOT a nurse. So I will enjoy this one even more, and savor each and everyday. I will make candy with my aunt, cousins, and niece. We will make FIFTEEN pounds of fudge.

and candy
like this.
with great big help from
from ryleigh (who refused to look) and andrew & carly.
Although I do not like what had to bring us together, I do like that we could come together and help my aunt get it finished. I just can't believe she used to do this all by herself.
So I am going to go back to enjoying this break.
Tell someone you love them.

The waiting game is over folks...

GRADES ARE UP.
And although I didn't do too well on the actual test,
I did enough to pass.
And right now,
THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.
I AM SO HAPPY.

I kinda feel like this.

And this...

or this...

and definitely this...

Tic Toc

This morning, at 8AM, I took my final for this semester. The semester right before the very last one. It was way past hard. However, I did indeed get booklet #30, and if you remember, that is not a bad thing. Maybe. We will see. I am still very impatiently waiting for the grades to be posted. Maybe if I click the site just one more time, they will be up. Nope. So I am waiting, and until then, I can't exactly say I am free or finished or pumped about next semester. So, I am still waiting.

notecards anyone?

So I was studying organizing my note cards from the past semesters and noticed I could practically build a forest. And you know what, two semesters are MISSING. The first two stacks are from the 2nd semester, by far the HARDEST, and the last two were the third and fourth semesters. I don't know where the first semester note cards are, nor care...

I am in love with Christmas time. Although I still have ONE final left for the semester, I still can't help but look at all these snazzy pictures that remind me of the most wonderful time of the year. I will upload our decorating day of Christmas when I can find the cord to the camera. For now, here is my favorite duo...

And I have had a tree just like this, but one sweet little princess uses it now, and I don't mind.
I will be making some of these for my holiday work party this weekend. YUMM
And lastly, I love lights.
You can NEVER have too many.
