2014 in a nutshell post

New Years in Atlanta came and went. Girls days are always grand, and all of Mrs. Meghan's parties were so much fun. Nashville for the bachelorette party was a BLAST, and celebrating my twenty seventh
birthday more than once made me realize just how lucky I am. A quick trip up north for my boyfriend's birthday, with a pit stop in Chicago (thanks fog) was just what we needed. I've celebrated a great friend's second child, and a childhood friend's beautiful wedding. Then we topped it off with the wedding of the year and things are only looking up. 2014 might just be the best year of them all...

So Long Alabama

My best friend is leaving me. Really, he is just moving a few states to the west but it feels like they're moving across the world. In 2 short weeks, they're packing up and starting a brand new journey as husband and wife, not in Alabama. Most of it hasn't sunk in. We aren't in denial, we just aren't wishing our days away. See, both the bride and groom are super close with their families. That groom is my brother & we talk daily. All of us are annoyingly close. Most just don't understand. We talk to our parents daily & siblings constantly. It's just who we are. Bride and groom alike. To say they'll be missed is an understatement. To say I haven't shed many tears would be a lie. Their wedding was one for the record books. They are both loved beyond words and are two of the most gracious people you'd ever meet. They give, they listen & they love... wholeheartedly & do so with open minds and hearts, never expecting anything in return. My brother is one of my best friends. We fight, only when he uses forks on my non stick pans & we always confide in one another over life's greatest challenges. The ease of lunch & dinner dates will now be FaceTime & texts dates but I know their move is one of the greatest & happiest decisions they've made thus far. My going to be missing them is purely selfishness, because deep down we all couldn't be happier for their new journey. God is leading them on a brand new adventure that few ever try. They are starting their future on a clean slate in a brand new city paving their own path. So, while my tears might be of sadness, my heart couldn't be happier for my new sister in law and brother. Their future is looking brighter than ever.

a post about a wedding/new years eve/and a birthday.

The Thursday before New Years, I went to a wedding. It was a beautiful wedding of two wonderful people. (the groom I went to high school with, and I met his beautiful bride in college). The reception was at the snazzy little place called Ted's Garage. I got to hang with some of my favorite people. See these people right here...
then the next night was new years eve, and lo behold, I don't have my camera... Luckily others did, and I was able to snag a few of theirs...

yes, I wore the same dress because it was too snazzy not too. Courtesy of Lotus Boutique.
and two more from the wedding.

I guess I can't forget that today is this ^^^^ guy's birthday.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, babe.
I HOPE YOUR DAY IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!

1/2/11

The first blog of 2011.

What 2010 brought to me...

I welcomed 2010 with a wonderful group of friends. I was not being the person I wanted to be, and I compromised myself in the process. Nonetheless, I began 2nd semester with a very positive outlook.

2010 gave to me a new relationship, an ended relationship, a new start at an old relationship, a severed friendship, a new friendship, and one brand new nephew that will be here by April. It brought the laughs and tears as well. It brought me one patched tire, then one brand new tire. It brought me two fun new battle wounds, and gave to me courage, strength, patience, and too many lbs. It gave me the ability to be way more thankful, and the ability to see the light at the end of each and every tunnel. It even brought to me one less bill. It brought some of us closer, and pushed a wedge between others. 2010 graciously gave us a mighty big demon, but not too big to fight. It gave to me, or partially me, a brand new puppy, who isn't so little anymore, and so VERY much more. Most importantly it allowed me to enjoy my family each and everyday.

I'll always be thankful for 2010, but I'm pretty stoked about 2011. Bring it on. HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Everybody's Doing It...

My wish for 2011.

one:: On may 10th to become a nurse, and celebrate Ryleigh's third birthday of course. I'm anxious, excited, nervous, terrified, and extremely hopeful... About the graduation. I'm excited my niece will be 3, just can't believe it. Time sure does fly.

two:: To read the entire Bible. I think I'll do the this.

three:: I want to pray every single day.

four:: find a new church. I must admit ever since my church closed in may, I haven't been very much. I just want to find a church that fits me.

five:: I wish to exercise more. Isn't that most people's wishes? Seriously, it must happen. People weren't kidding when they said you stop growing taller when you get older, you just grow wider.

six:: Maybe I'll eat less fatty foods in the process.

seven:: More time for me and my little girl, Tallulah. Because she is getting older, and one day I might not have her, and that breaks my heart.

eight:: I will spend more time with my friends, after graduation of course. I don't know how much time I won't have come January 10th, but I'll make the most of what I have. I need my friends.

nine:: I wish to do for me. So many times we give give give for others, and forget that we must be happy first. I don't know how someone can please someone else until they are happy with themselves. After all, no one will be happy in the end. So I must do a little something for myself first. Selfish? I think, IMPERATIVE!

ten:: I will choose my battles more wisely, because you can't take back words already spoken.

eleven:: I wish to be more thankful, and count my blessings more often than I do.

and one to grow on:: TO keep my car more clean. The bullet needs lovin' too.

I can't believe 2010 is one day away from being over.
Even though 2011 is an ODD number, I am SURE it will be anything but.
I CAN'T WAIT!
