San Antonio!

I was so excited as soon as I stepped off that airplane. I couldn't get to my luggage fast enough. Seeing my brother and sister in law was just what this girl needed. We started our first night at the The Taste of the Northside, one of the many events for Fiesta.
Meghan and I did some shopping while Daniel worked then on Friday we went to the Battle of the Flowers parade. It is one of the largest parades in the country.
On Saturday we went to see the Alamo
and were super tourists on the River Walk boat tour.
I found this awesome hospital on the river walk... I think I could definitely see myself working here ;)
Casa Rio was delish, but I didn't have bad meal while I was there.
Sunday Funday's always include brunch, and I give Feast two thumbs up.
The Other Woman is a must see and a dinner and a movie in one is so cool. We need places like this in Alabama ASAP.

And of course, I had to bring a little Texas to my new home coming soon!
I can't wait to see these two again!

Today is the day

My mom said to set a date. Set a date to say today is the day. Today is the day that you won't look back. Everyone deserves time to grieve and be bitter and cry. Some a little longer than others, but if we make a habit out of it then we are just letting something control us that we have no control over. Now what good comes from that? Absolutely nothing. We have no control. We gave it all to God. He closed this door we thought we would have opened for forever because He has something grander in mind. I might still be impatiently waiting, but I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Is it fair, probably not. But life's not fair and that's a whole other blog entry in general. So today is my day. After today, I'm to leave my past exactly where it belongs and I'm to wake up every single day with a better mindset than the day before. Hard? Well that's an understatement. But if I keep living this woe is me life, then I'm giving all the power to someone who doesn't deserve it. Today I'm taking everything I have left and I'm leaving on a jet plane. I'm saying so long to that chapter and I'm starting a new one. Today I get to see my brother and sister in law and spend the next five days with my best friends in Texas. Of course I'll be back, but not back where everything went so wrong. I'll be back and then I'll be closing on my very own home and I'll get to start a new chapter... a chapter with blank pages with a fresh new book smell, that's a smell to love. Or maybe it's the smell of a brand new home. Either way, today is the day to never look back, because it only brings me down. Today is for me and I couldn't be more excited to see where it takes me. So long Alabama. I'll see ya soon.

I'm on my way

I am fairly certain hopping on a plane to Texas to visit my brother and sister in law isn't my smartest financial move the week before closing, but somethings are just needed. I CAN NOT WAIT. 20 days and counting.

Girl's Night!

I'm clearly a terrible blogger. I don't have too much new going on, but things are pretty grand. I went out with my good friend Suzanne and made some new great friends too. We had an absolute blast! Oh, and in just a few short weeks, Suzanne and I are hopping on a plane to NEW YORK CITY! We are so excited. Any must dos while there?

A blog about the beach

The last week in April, Kyle and I went to the beach. It also was my last 7 days off before I started my brand new job. We went to Perdido Key in Florida. The weather was beautiful & the food was delish.
Of course, I had to get my nails done before we went.
On our way!
Beautiful, my favorite place on earth.
Beach time!

Dinner at Mikee's was a must.
Before dinner on the first night.
FloraBama has come a long way since the hurricanes, so if you are ever in town go sit with us! haha. I was totally that girl, but I couldn't resist!
I started my new job this past Monday. So far, so good!
It is crazy how productive I am in one day when I work like a normal person.
Those 7on 7off sure had me spoiled!
ps --> I can't wait to go back to the beach, I LOVE THAT PLACE. :)
Happy Sunday!

Valentine's at Prado

I'll be honest... I don't really care that much for Valentine's day. I think it is a bit overrated. Shouldn't we show the people we love how much we love them, EVERY SINGLE DAY? Why of course we should. But, in San Diego I did have a very lovely Valentine's day. Everyday was fun, and we had some wonderful food. You've seen the first two pictures but I'll show you just one more time.
We ate at Prado
in Balboa Park... How pretty was this?
I started the night with a pomegranate margarita. Very tasty.
I wasn't a fan of the starter, therefore I won't put the picture up. haha. I am sure it was good, just not for this picky eater. But here was my entree. Steak, garlic pureed potatoes, and green beans...DELICIOUS.
and my chocolate mousse bar for dessert. YUMMY. I could have eaten this all night.
I would definitely recommend Prado for all of those visiting the San Diego area.
Hope your weekend was fabulous!!

Sunny San Diego

We made it to the hotel late Saturday night.
We didn't have anything planned for Sunday, so we thought we would try Legoland. Little did we know it wasn't made for people over the age of 10. But we managed to have a good time and even rode a little roller coaster.
The best part was no doubt the octopus. So cool
Oh, here was the handy Rogue. She took us on every Uturn and every missed exit, but we surely made it to our destinations... Eventually. (I'm a terrible map quest)
The next trip will definitely be to this place!
Sunday night we just ordered room service. We had two big dinners ahead of us!
After a day of shopping on Monday we had a delish lunch at Hooters. Sure, I eat here often at home but we couldn't pass it up.
Monday night we had dinner at Baci Ristorante! IT WAS SO GOOD!
We had to reschedule then ended up having to cancel our sea cave kayak tour (because of the weather) but we definitely made up for it! Tuesday we went to the San Diego safari park and zip lined. It was so pretty.
See...
Where we finished the zip lining.
How pretty was this lion?
On the safari tram.

This was our Valentine dinner at Prado. It deserves another post with all the pictures of our yummy meal!

On Wednesday we went to San Diego zoo. Holy moly, what an awesome zoo?!?

On the polar bear scale, I am the size of a 3 month cub....haha. But I think this weight is a little off. It was very generous :)

We ended Wednesday with a trip to In and Out burger. Again, this place deserves a post all its own!
San Diego wasn't as sunny as we thought it would be, and it actually rained more this week then it probably has in San Diego's existence. But we had a blast and I can't wait to travel back to California.
